Youngster flattered by United and Arsenal interest

Cardiff City star Adam Matthews admits he’s flattered by the reported interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, but insists he’s focused on playing well for Cardiff until the end of the season.

He does however admit that if an offer came in from from either club he’d definitely think about it.

‘If that ever came about I’d have to think about it. But I’m just happy to be playing for Cardiff at the moment,’ he told BBC Sport.

‘I don’t think the speculation is distracting, I’m quite a level-headed boy and obviously I’m very happy to get noticed.’

‘But I’m happy to be with Cardiff and play the rest of the season and I’ve heard nothing. It’s just rumours.’

The situation closely resembles the tug of war for Aaron Ramsay and if the rumoured interest is true, Sir Alex Ferguson won’t want to be beaten to the punch twice by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
