Van der Sar’s wife suffers stroke at 37

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van Der Sar is keeping vigil at the side of his wife after she suffered a stroke at just 37 years of age.

Annmarie van Kesteren is believed to have collapsed last Wednesday as Edwin and his two children prepared for Christmas.

Edwin had only recently returned to his native Holland after Sir Alex Ferguson allowed him to see a specialist back home. It’s now thought that he will stay in Holland until more is known about his wife’s condition.
