United linked to Chamakh and Cheyrou

Marouane Chamakh and Benoit Cheyrou have become the latest pair to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly became interested in Chamakh after his impressive performances against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and could be swayed by the fact that the strikers contract with current club Bordeaux runs out in the Summer, meaning he could be signed on the cheap in January.

Defensive midfielder Cheyrou – brother of former Liverpool player Bruno – was reportedly watched by United scouts as Marseille drew 5-5 with Lyon in a thriller in Paris last week.United linked to

The potential signing of Cheyrou might not sit well with United fans due to his brothers ties to Liverpool.

Sir Alex still has much of the £80 million from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to spend, and is expected to reinforce his squad in January.
