Thank you Tottenham for providing more Manchester City comedy
What can you say about Tottenham Hotspur? They’re usually big time bottlers who do their best to be their own worst enemy.
Tonight I expected much of the same from them when they took on Manchester City away at Eastlands. How wrong I was!
The game has just ended and Spurs won 1-0 thanks to a Peter Crouch header late on. I won’t bore you with a match report that I don’t want to write and you don’t want to read. This isn’t about the match itself.
This is about what Spurs have done for us this season. With City spending a quarter of a billion pounds on new players, some were talking them up for not just a Champions League place, but as potential title winners!
Now, after a season of comedy, they’ve given us one final laugh, with much of the credit going to Spurs. They have denied City a chance of competing amongst the world’s best clubs. They have denied City the precious Champions League place that many believe could open the floodgates of world class players heading to City. But Spurs have given us much more than that!
At White Hart Lane they’ve taken three points from Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. They gave us six precious points. And they’ve done the double over our noisy bitter neighbours, just like we did.
So I don’t think I’m alone tonight in saying thank you very much Tottenham Hotspur for giving us just one more reason to laugh out loud at the comedy club that is Manchester City. A truly massive club!

You’re welcome! Just a shame about having given you six precious points!
As a delirious Spurs fan – its been a pleasure and I’m sure the red half of Manchester are grinning as much as us on Tottenham High Road.
Lets now hope Chelscum f*ck up and you pip them – I think we’ll all have a beer then – anyway back to the beer tonight.
Cheers
Hopefully next season we will give you a harder time, but for now we’re made up at taking fourth!!
The downside for you though is that you’ll have a less convincing argument to steal more of our players this summer.
You cunts!
Delighted! Absolutely stunned. We thought we would mess it up too. A truly great night! Just do us a favour and take the league off chelski now. Would make my season!!! Good luck for the title boys!
No – I’m happy to give you 6 points, in return for you doing the treble over city in such a heartbreaking way as well
,shame we couldn’t help you beat chelski, and make it a complete seaon for fottball not money
Your thank you is appreciated in the same spirit that it was given.Just remember, you guys are next on the list.
I will make it even better for you guys! Just look at this:

You’re most welcome United. Disappointed you couldn’t stop our neighbours winning the league this year, but still got a lot of time for you. City are the one team who can out-bottle us! COYS!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SPURS OVER THE SEASON BETTER THAN CITY BUT YOU RED ARMCHAIR SUPPORTERS MUST BE FEARING THE WORST – A SEASON OF COMEDY – GIVE IT A REST EUROPA LEADUE NEXT YEAR. WHAT YOU GOING TO DO WHEN SCHOLES, GIGGS, NEVILLE, VAN DER SAR RETIRE COS YOU HAVENT GOT THE CASH TO REPLACE THEM. THE TIDES WILL TURN HE WHO LAUGHS LAST
Well done Harry and the lads.
Thought the city boss showed class post match and their PA playing our song at the end was a nice touch too. They will get another chance soon enough.
Manu will have to look elsewhere to poach players because Harry will tell yo where to go.
Glad chelsea are ahead of you. Dont like the same clubs winning every year.
All in all.
I think city deserve the slot. Harry has been great for them.
City can now go home to think of a better next season…..hopefully.
Oooh Jimmy jimmy, touched a raw nerve? Apparently people with inferiority complexes (colloquially known as the small dick complex) tend to be louder, your usage of caps is akin to shouting. And BTW, in case you haven’t notices both United and Spurs fans are rolling around laughing… The red shadow always looms large over the bitter blues!! And thank you Spurs on so many counts!!
