Striker signs loan deal

Manchester United’s promising young striker Danny Welbeck has signed for Preston on loan until the end of the season, according to manutd.com.

New Preston boss Darren Ferguson looked to father Sir Alex to make 19 year old Welbeck his first signing since taking the reins at Deepdale on January 6th.

Welbeck has made 11 appearances for United this term and has got himself onto the score sheet against both Wolves and Barnsley to help the reds progress in the Carling Cup.

Fergie Jr will be hoping Welbeck can kick start a run of good results for Preston to propel them into a play off place.
