The power of Red Issue – Gill confronted by angry fans

The power of internet message boards has been revealed again this week, with a certain Mr. David Gill on the end of an uncomfortable question and answer session.

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen how powerful internet forums can be. The green and gold campaign has gained national news coverage after being started by an administrator on Red Issue Manchester United forum

This time the instigator time wishes to remain anonymous, but his message has been heard loud and clear.

David Gill was speaking at an event at Birmingham university on Thursday, and when leaving he was confronted by the angry Manchester United fan.

He was asked why he had backtracked on his statement from 2004 in which he stated, “debt is the road to ruin”.

As we showed yesterday his current stance has changed quite a lot, with him trying to tell us we “should be proud of what’s happening at Manchester United“.

Gill faced more uncomfortable questions to which he could give no credible answers.

The conversation was recorded by another man who also wishes to remain anonymous, and it has made its way into the national newspapers, just as the green and gold protests have.

The conversation has so far been featured on the following websites.

Daily Mail

Guardian

The Times

The Telegraph
