Player ratings: AC milan 2 – 3 Manchester United
Van der Sar – 9 Kept us in the game with key saves in the first half. One excellent stop from a Pirlo free kick stood out. Not at fault for either goal.
Rafael – 5 Still a lot to learn. Lost possession cheaply and then was out of position for the Seedorf goal. We were then on the back foot for the remainder of a game when we should have been cruising.
Evans – 6 Terrible in the first half. Got his act together after a rollocking from Ferguson.
Rio – 7 Played well, despite Evans’ mistakes.
Evra – 6 Not at his best, but still contributed well to the attack. Undone by Pato on a few occasions.
Carrick – 7 Didn’t start well, but pulled himself together and dominated the midfield in the second half alongside Fletcher.
Fletcher – 8 Dominant performance from Fletch. Didn’t give the Milan midfield time to breathe.
Scholes – 6 Very sloppy in the first half. Very lucky goal that deflected off his standing leg.
Park – 5 I still don’t believe he’s a real footballer.
Nani – 6 Not his best game. Crossing was poor and he was wasteful in possession. Tracked back well to help out Rafael.
Rooney – 9 Isolated in the first half, but came alive in the second and dominated milan’s back line single handedly. Two excellent headers to win the game from good crosses by Valencia and Fletcher.

Raphael, a lot to learn? you are assuming a lot, the chap is at it every game, ball watching, jumping in, lack of concentration. How are we getting away with it, the worse defending in years….every week!
it’s criminal!
U have too be kiden me Rafa a 5 afta keeping a 2 times world player of the year recipient quiet for most of the game your ratings r appalling considering evans had a howler of a game you give him more then Rafa
Dumo, at times, Rafael was more shocking than your spelling. Both he and Evans were crap, and not good enough.
Well the kid’s still 19 FFS. Give him time! Our other options are Wes and O’Shea. Evans had a clanger and Rio is still far from his best. Thank god for VDS!! Nani is good only 4-5 games a season, either we sell him or we drop him to the reserves after four games. I am still not sure what Park brings to the side apart from the fact that SAF trusts him in all the big games! It was not a great tactic playing him through the middle though it worked out in the end.
Park brings reliability and pace through the midfield (or wing if desperate). He rarely has a bad game and can be relied in most situations.
Rafael is only 19, he will be good, give him time lads!
On the subject of Rafael, i agree he has plenty of time to develop. In the meantime surely Wes Brown would be a better bet at right back in games like this?
Elvido, I am not slating Rafael, nor am I saying he should be sold. Just saying his performance, along with Johnny Evans’ was complete crap. I think both are excellent players and talents, but that doesn’t change the fact that they didn’t perform.
