Macheda signs new contract

Federico Macheda has committed his long term future to the club by signing a new four year contract that keeps him at United until 2014.

The Italian striker is enjoying his time at Old Trafford and is looking forward to developing as a player.

“I am very happy to commit my future to Manchester United,” said Macheda. “I really enjoyed myself last season when I came on and I hope to get more chances like that and contribute to the team’s success.”

Sir Alex Ferguson also spoke of his excitement at being able to watch him grow over the next few years.

“We are delighted by the new four-year deal, everyone at the club recognises the fantastic talent he has and we hope to see that develop in the next years, so he becomes a well rounded player.”
