Join MUST to save United

The elusive Red Knights convened in London yesterday to discuss their proposed takeover of Manchester United. Deal broker Keith Harris, chairman of investment bankers Seymour Pierce, and Jim O’Neill, chief economist at Goldman Sachs are known to be two of the men involved in the bid, and Duncan Drasdo, Chief Executive of MUST appeared on Sky Sports News this afternoon to speak about the meeting.

While not wanting to give too much away, Drasdo said the Red Knights are definitely interested in moving forward with the proposal, but want a show of faith fro the Manchester United fans before moving forward with plans.

How can you show your faith? It’s simple. Join MUST. At the time of writing, the membership number stands at 54,186. Drasdo and the Red Knights want that number to climb to around the 100,000 mark.

Two months ago that figure was as low as 30,000. So if it can almost double in a matter of months, then surely we can get it over 100,000 with the coverage it gained on Sky Sports News today.

You can also help by encouraging friends and relatives to join too.

Do you own a website or a blog? Put up a banner or a link to MUST to encourage your visitors to sign up. It takes about 30 seconds to do and it completely free.

  1. WHATS EVER IS BEST FOR UBITED.THEY NOT OK NOW

  2. Time for the cancer to go.

  3. Was impressed with Drasdo, interview was good and looked a polished act. MUST and the Red Knights are ready for business!

  4. It certainly looks that way Bill. I just hope the fans can hold up our end by joining MUST and also hitting the Glazer’s in their pockets by not renewing our season tickets. A mass boycott of Old Trafford would soon affect their ability to repay their debts and could force them to sell. Fingers crossed.

  5. Wow. So what are we suppose to do to help this…?

  6. I joined around 3 hours ago and it’s already gone up from 66k to 78k. Good stuff!

  7. the boycott is the solution to save our beloved team, we need to kick glazer“s ass

  8. I fully agree with this proposed boycott, however it is never going to happen, if 20 thousand season ticket holders dont renew, then another 20 thousand fans will snap them up.

  9. I don’t agree with that Random Hero. There used to be thousands of fans on season ticket waiting lists. Now they’re actively emailing fans offering them out in the off season. People are finally fed up with the Glazer’s and it’s showing in the attendances.

Many of my match going friends are giving their season tickets up at the end of this season and I imagine it’s the same across the board. You only have to browse the various United forums to realize the extent of the discontent amongst the match going fans, particularly redissue which has more match goers than any other United forum. There’s fnally some momentum to the anti Glazer movement and if the Red Knights can put a serious offer on the table I firmly believe many fans will seriously consider giving up their ST’s for the short term if it means benefits for the club in the long term.

The publication of the financial figures at the time of the bond issue has finally made people realize that the Glazer’s plan is not sustainable. They can’t be allowed to continue sucking money from our club and expect success on the pitch to continue. our recent league titles have happened in spite of them, not because of them.

People want them gone and it’s only a matter of time until there are thousands of empty seats on view at most home games.

  10. the Glazers have used our beloved MUFC like mine, are exploiting a great club to their only interest is to increase your fortune at all costs and even make our team into debt as it is happening the Portsmouth team, do not give, and offered a billion pounds and seems not interested in selling to more than one billion pounds, we have to give them where it hurts, economically, I’m from mexico and I followed this great team for eleven years and I do not view the sunken in debt, I have bought many shirts and accessories from Manchester United, the boycott is the solution starting from not buying season tickets, do not buy shirts, balls, or any enhancement. we can only do together if you love the United and the Glazers hate the boycott is the solution

  11. So how much is it to join MUST? im a life long united fan my family’s supported them for generations altho we may not live in Manchester now the support is still strong and it makes me sick to my stomach that the glazer family own united

  12. I have a great idea, the Glazers want to sell the team almost three times what they cost, SAF says he does not want to buy many players this is because there is no money and the debt just grows and grows, do not buy more tickets to go to Old Trafford every weekend, only visitors to go when we play, but you will say “our team needs support, not support the team loses? then no, we can meet outside the Old Trafford stadium and sing this wonderful team that is being ravaged by monsters, a giant screen outside the stadium we can support our team and always feel that we are there, perhaps out but continue to support, not MUFC buy more clothing or accessory we can win this war friends, spread the word to reach the Red Knights, we can do it. Glory, Glory Man United!
