Hargreaves rejoins first team squad
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that long term absentee will be stepping up his return to action by training with the first team.
The midfielder had previously played 45 minutes for the reserves last week, but will not play a part in tonight’s reserve game (now postponed anyway) as Sir Alex is looking to integrate him with the first team and see how he progresses.
His return could bring vital experience and depth to the squad in the title tun in.
“Owen won’t play for the Reserves tonight,” Fergie said this morning.
“He’s going to be training with the first team and we’ll see where that takes him. We’re keen to get him back involved because he’s an experienced player and will be a valuable addition for us in the run-in, when having a strong, fit squad is vital.”

I hope SA isn’t rushing him in too fast. I get the impression he has a certain degree of impatience with the whole Hargreaves situation, (understandably so) but if he breaks down again after this, he’s finished.
With so long out and only half a game with the reserves, it would surely be wise to build him up really slowly, especially as Hargreaves admits he still suffers with pain.
