Gill’s lies won’t fool the fans

David Gill was accused by fans of blatant lies today, after his interview with BBC radio Five Live this morning.

The Manchester United chief Executive was asked what he thought about the ongoing protests at Old Trafford and said he had no problem with them.

“Protests are fine, it is a free society,” he told the interviewer.

Why then, were many supporters ejected from Old Trafford for unfurling a banner that read, “LOVE UNITED HATE GLAZER”?

If we truly live in a free society, then surely these fans should be able to protest in peace without fear of being manhandled by overly keen stewards and booted out of the stadium like criminals.

David Gill is a very good Chief Executive, but his blatant lies won’t wash with match going fans who know what a police state Old Trafford has become.

  1. Ready for you behind the baricades still Gill. LUHG

  2. Were the fans really manhandled? By now means am I supporting the Glazers but at the same time, you can’t be surprised that they would be removed when the Glazers own the club.
