Are Giggs and Scholes playing for commercial reasons?

As one manager mentioned this weekend the long tours to foreign climbs ‘are not ideal’. That leads me to question whether Giggs and Scholes really need to be starting all these games. I think there are others that need to be given time and starting matches will only build their confidence. These are players like Obertan, Carrick, Gibson, who need some games in succession to be ready to make a big impact this season.

I wonder though whether the crowds would flock had Scholes and Giggs not been involved in this tour. Is that the real reason why they are playing? United look at their most vulnerable when Scholes and Giggs start together in the midfield in a competitive match.

  1. Personally a piece of carrot cake and lassie would do a better job in midfield together than Scholes and Giggs now.

  2. Carrick isnt even on the US tour dumb a’ss hes recovering from the world cup

  3. I think that is one of the reasons. Barcelona are getting complaints because they are not playing their biggest stars.
