Gibson Set To Complete Everton Transfer

Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson is reportedly on the verge of a move to Everton after undergoing a medical at Goodison Park on Thursday night.

The Irish midfielder has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford and was fined a week’s wages last month after turning up for training worse for wear after a night out with team mates Jonny Evans and Wayne Rooney.

Gibson has managed just one Premier League appearance for Manchester United this season, despite severe injury problems in midfield.

It is understood that Ireland manager Giovanni Trappatoni may have influenced Gibson’s decision to move, after stating that he would struggle to make Ireland’s Euro 2012 squad if he was not playing regular first team football.

Gibson’s £1M move would make him David Moyes’ second signing of the Janury transfer window, after securing the signing of USA’s Landon Donovan on loan.

Gibson could make his debut in Everton’s clash with Asdton Villa on Saturday.
