Fergie: Owen was superb!

Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the performance of Michael Owen against Wolfsburg as ‘superb’.

Manchester United’s ex-Liverpool striker ensured they finished as Group B winners in the Champions League with a hat trick away to the German Champions and Sir Alex could not be be more pleased.

“It was a fantastic performance,” Ferguson told Sky Sports.

“Michael’s finishing and positional play were superb.

“The evidence of a player is always on the field and Michael has given us that. He has proved his worth and I’m delighted with his performance.”
