Fergie: They all want Nani to play, they think he’s fantastic
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that the rest of his Manchester united players all want to see Nani on the pitch every game.
The Portuguese winger has been in blistering form recently and put in another excellent performance today, contributing to both of Manchester United’s first half goals.
Ferguson told MUTV what the players think of Nani now that he’s matured into a consistent performer.
“It’s amazing, when you talk to the players they all want him to play, they all think he’s fantastic and now we get consistency and maturity out of him I think we’ve got a really good player.
“The boy has come back. He had an injury and he’s been freshened up and his last three games have been first class and today was his best.
“Maturity is one thing as he’s 23 now, he’s a very shy boy there’s no question about that. It’s a question of getting stronger and better to deal with playing for us every week. And today is an example of that maturity.”

Agreed but need to keep Valencia match fit and keen – after all he’s been one of our better performers in the first half of the season.

I agree last night was the best performance from him and we should give him more chance to show his ability. By the way, how about Valencia? do SAF need to change his position as he is our good player on the field too

Maybe it’s high time we have got a left footed winger . There are not many promising young players around . May be Ben Arfa or hope we get Krasic and he could do a decent job on the left . Nani can still improve his corner deleveries wich hv been abysmal in last 2 matches ……. . Hope anderson gets his head right now and hargo returns back with a bang . All the people who hv written of united yet again watch out…..

Why didn’t Fergie play him on the right before. I think his improvement is mainly due to him playing in his preferred position. Playing on the left with a weaker left foot meant he had to keep cutting in and couldn’t provide decent crosses.

i enjoy that game last night man united vs Arsenal when Nani past middle two players and score the first goal, for me i will like to see him playing every game as he is fit now and i hope Wayne Rooney will be happy to play with him every game.

Good to see Nani come on, the potential is there to see.
High time we have got a left footed winger, errrr Tosic! If he’s playing for Serbia and starring in the reserves, what else can you ask for! He’s young too, hopefully this spell at Koln will do him some good.

The only reason why Nani has been very consistent is because he has been asked to keep his game simple, and play first time balls when possible. Most importantly, he has been asked to play on the right. Usually Fergie will play him on the left where he would do a couple of step-overs then take it to the by line where he would pretend to cross but do a drag back and then cross: Which at the end the cross was poor and the opposing team had enough players to deal with it. Now hes on the right, he would get the ball initially and whoop in an amazing first time cross which is more deadly. We all have to remember that Nani has amazing talent given the reason why we initially signed him from Sporting.

It has been great to see him start to show some consistency to some of the flashes he had shown in the past. Hopefully people don’t get to carried away though, and then start to slate him if his form drops a couple games. I think he is a player that thrives on confidence more than any other which shows by him not being able to adapt to the left.
