Fergie: The important thing is to persevere

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised his team’s perseverance after they came from behind to secure a point at St. Andrews.

The reds will find themselves hard done by after dominating the entire first half yet somehow going in at half time 1-0 down, but Sir Alex is pleased with the fighting spirit they showed to battle for a point against high flying Birmingham.

“To lose the goal just before half-time after dominating the game was a real sickener.

“But the most important thing is to persevere in situations like that. We have got the experience to do that.

“But this is a tough league. Birmingham have really improved since they have come into this division.”
