Evra: Our attack is devastating

Patrice Evra believes Manchester United have not received the respect that they deserve this season.

The United left back believes they’re as “devastating” as anybody when in full flow and shouldn’t have been written off prior to the Arsenal game on Sunday.

“People have criticised us a great deal,” he said. “Before our game against Arsenal, everybody had us down as losers. Plenty of people do not show enough respect for the reigning champions.”

The Frenchman insists United were only ever interested in a win at the Emirates, and playing for a point was never mentioned.

“We spoke in the dressing room before the Arsenal game and there was no question of us even coming away with a draw.”

Evra praised Arsenal for their attacking football, but believes Manchester Uniteds style is more effective. he also refused to rule them out of the title race and is hoping they get a food result against Chelsea next weekend.

“Arsenal are a side that plays very attractive football,” he added. “We do as well, with the difference that ours is more devastating. But I do not rule them out of the title race at all, as they are a great team. And I hope they will cause Chelsea problems next weekend.”

  1. I like hearing this. Shows the team is still hungry and hopefully pushing onto another title.
