Disgraceful BBC censor United fans green and gold protests
The anti Glazer feeling was at fever pitch yesterday as Manchester United took on Portsmouth on the 52nd anniversary of the Munich air disaster.
On the pitch, United thrashed the hapless strugglers 5-0, but it was in the stands where the fans did us proud.
For the entire 90 minutes chants of “LOVE UNITED HATE GLAZER” and “WE WANT GLAZER OUT” were sung by dedicated fans waving their green and gold scarves in protest at the spiralling debts the Glazer’s have placed on the club.
Yet anyone watching Match of the Day last night wouldn’t have heard this at all.
Sky’s Football First program showed highlights of the match and you could hear the chants loud and clear and they showed images of the fans waving their green and gold scarves. But the Match of the Day highlights appeared to be completely edited to get rid of all traces of the protests. There were no audible chants and no visible green and gold scarves.
An institution such as the BBC, paid for by the fans(TV license holders), is supposed to be 100% neutral and this act of censorship is a blatant contradiction of everything the BBC claims to represent.
They might be able to censor us on Match of the Day, but they won’t be able to censor us at Wembley in 3 weeks time for the Carling Cup final against Villa. So bring your green and gold scarves, t-shirts, hats and flags and be sure to make your voice heard.
You can also make yourself heard by complaining about the censorship at the following link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/

Wish that there hadn’t been any chants, for me personally. Today was about Munich and the flowers of Manchester. Against Villa, fire up the “Glazer Out!” all match long…
I didn’t see the Match of the Day footage, but this can only be a decision of the producer of the programme itself rather than the BBC as a whole as last weekend Football Focus had a 5 min feature on the protest. It was good too, other than 30 secs of some so called, “Finance Expert” who had less knowledge of the impact of the bonds than me!
Considering how much silence there was yesterday, I’m surprised that you claim there was protests throughout the 90 minutes. They may have rung loudest, but there were far less than expected. As above, I wish there had been none, and for the first few minutes I was hopefull the Calypso would get a good 20-30 mins at least, but sadly someone always have to break in. The atmosphere was generally dull, though…
Admittedly I may be a few thousand miles away. But I share that same feeling of being aggrieved, disgusted, at the sight of corrupt corporate giants sniffling at the sight of money.
Hit them back where it hurts: have a campaign of mass boycott of BBC services as much as possibly can. Since money talks.
