Diouf scores hat trick

Manchester united striker Mame Biram Diouf put himself in contention for a place in Sir Alex Ferguson‘s squad to face Hull on Saturday, by scoring a hat trick for the reserves.

United won the game 4-0 at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground, with Diouf netting in the 18th, 45th and 48th minutes, while Sam Hewson rounded of the scoring with a 78th minute penalty.

Diouf has already impressed at first team level by scoring the third against Burnley last week, and must now be hoping his first Premier League start will soon be on the horizon.

The Senegalese striker may have to wait a while yet though, after picking up a knock in the second half. If fit, he’s certain to be involved in the squad this weekend as United look to go top of the league.
