Cantona: Henry wouldn’t have lasted three seconds with me

Eric Cantona is the latest person to speak out on the Thierry Henry handball controversy after the French striker handled the ball before setting up the goal that sank Ireland’s hopes of World Cup qualification.

Eric was not so bothered by the handball itself, more of the way Henry sat down next to Richard Dunne after the game as if nothing had happened.

“What shocked me most wasn’t the handball, honestly,” Cantona said.

“What shocked me most was that at the end of the match, in front of the television cameras, this player went and sat down next to an Irish player to console him, even though he’d screwed them three minutes earlier. If I’d been Irish, he wouldn’t have lasted three seconds.”
