Men against Boys as United brush Arsenal aside

It was men against boys again today as Manchester United gave Arsenal a lesson in ruthless attacking football at the Emirates stadium.

Goals from Nani (or was it an Almunia OG?), Wayne Rooney and Park Ji Sung silenced Arsenal until Thomas Vermaelen’s deflected shot forced a late flurry of pressure on United’s back line, but by then it was too late.

United started brightest, led mainly by in form winger Nani. Arsenal were quick on the counter attack, but Arshavin was disappointing in front of goal and failed to test Van der Sar once.

The real state of the finances was revealed a couple of weeks ago to the astonishment of many fans and it gave rise to a second wind of the anti-Glazer movement, headed by the “Green & Gold ’til the Club is Sold” started by Chatmaster of Red Issue forums.

Nani: I cannot replace Ronaldo, but my future is with United

Portuguese winger Nani has spoken of his admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson for the way he has helped him develop this season after an inconsistent start.

After being in and out of the team early in the season and then missing for a while through injury, Nani has found it hard to nail down a first team spot this term.

It hasn’t helped that Summer signing Antonio Valencia had apparently been Ferguson’s first choice for the right wing slot, but after a couple of impressive performances against Hull and Manchester City, Nani has shown that he’s more than capable of fighting for his place in the first team and has thanked the United boss for believing in him.
